On February 28th, 2023, the Luxembourg Maritime Cluster officially welcomed the Luxembourg Stock Exchange as a new Cluster member during a networking cocktail at the LuxSE premises.
We thank Patrick Steenacker, member of the CML Board of Directors and representative of Ahmar and Euronav in Luxembourg, and Arnaud Delestienne, member of the LuxSE Executive Committee, for their speeches, which open the event.
The Luxembourg Stock Exchange, already a leader in green bonds, is aware of the maritime sector’s need to achieve the green transition. Therefore, they recently developed their activities in this direction, given the possibility of issuing green and sustainability-linked bonds for shipping in Luxembourg.
On June 1st, 2022, the Cluster Maritime Luxembourgeois and CLdN organized Le Pot d’Été du Cluster. We thank CLdN to have welcomed us into their building for a fantastic networking event. In this friendly and casual atmosphere, our Chairman, Mr. Fabrice Maire, gave an update on the first semester of 2022 for the Cluster.
The CML is growing, and our Chairman mentioned the four new member companies joining us: Deutsche Bank, Euronav, Marsh, Sompo International. He also shared different facts, such as the Presidency of the European Network of Maritime Clusters that the Cluster took on January 1st, 2022.
Mr. Fabrice Maire concluded his speech by talking about an accompanied visit to Port of Mertert that will close the Cluster events for the first semester of 2022.
The CML and the Luxembourg Maritime Affairs organized an event for the retirement of Mr. Robert “Bim“ Biwer, on May 3rd, 2022, at Knokke Out Luxembourg. Mr. Robert Biwer was Commissioner at the CAM since 2008, and he will take his retirement end of April 2022.
Our Chairman, Mr. Fabrice Maire, opened the event, followed by Mr. Franz Fayot, Minister of Economy, and Mr. Pierre Gramegna, ex-Minister of Finance.
More than 70 people were gathered to thank Bim for his work and dedication to the Luxembourg maritime sector. This evening will stay a beautiful memory for everyone. We wish all the best for Bim & a peaceful retirement full of happiness!
After months of digital events, on November 30th, 2021, one of the most famous events of the Luxembourg Maritime Cluster made its comeback: Le Pot du Cluster.
The Cluster decided to invite all its members to a neutral location, the Knokke Out restaurant (Riven Clausen in Luxembourg). The event started with an opening speech by Mr. Fabrice Maire. Then, he introduced the 2021 new members, AKD Luxembourg & Geoxyz. Also, the new members’ representatives of several other members.
The event also highlighted the Treasurer of the Cluster, Mr. Charles Gosselin, to thank him for his dedication and work for many years and until now for the Luxembourg Maritime Cluster & the Luxembourg Cluster for Logistics.
The CML organized in partnership with ING Luxembourg an event on November 7, 2019, with the participation of ING Netherlands, ING Luxembourg, Jan De Nul Group and Spire Maritime.
After an opening speech by Mr. Damien Degros (ING Luxembourg), the floor was giving to Mr. Haico Vaanholt (ING Netherlands), who presented their maritime desk, followed by Ms. Elodie Ruche (ING Luxembourg) about their sustainable desk. Mr. Carl Heiremans presented the offshore activities of Jan De Nul Group, and Mr. George Facaeru did a presentation of Spire Maritime.
In partnership with the Banque International à Luxembourg, the CML organized an event focused on Maritime & Space. It was held on November 13th, 2018, at BIL.
After his opening speech, Mr. Fabrice Maire gave the floor to Mr. Andrew Bowyer (Kleos Space) and Ms. Simone Moser (Luxspace), who presented their companies. The evening continued with a networking cocktail. In total, more than 50 professionals from the maritime industry and the services economy attended this successful event.
The Luxembourg Maritime Cluster organized a welcome event on June 28th, 2018, at the Brasserie de la Place in Itzig – where Atoz and Meyer Neptun presented their company in a friendly atmosphere. The presentations were followed by a dinner and the World Cup football match between Belgium and England.
